What Is an e-paper Display?

An e-paper display (electronic paper / E Ink) is a reflective, bistable display that mimics ink on paper. Charged pigment microcapsules rearrange under an electric field to form the image, then hold it on screen with zero power — electricity is only needed to change the content.

Key Benefits

  • Eye-friendly, paper-like readability: No backlight, no flicker, no glare — clear in direct sunlight and comfortable for long viewing.
  • Ultra-low power, lower cost: Uses a fraction of the energy of LCD/LED, holds an image with no power draw, and supports battery or solar operation.
  • Full-color & advanced refresh: Color EPD (E Ink Spectra 6 / Gallery), high-contrast monochrome, and ChLCD options, powered by MyGica-Flex intelligent waveform technology for smooth full, partial, and fast refresh with minimal ghosting.
  • Full size range: From ~10″ up to 42″, plus e-ink monitors, photo frames, tablets, and interactive whiteboards on the same platform.
  • Full-stack & OEM/ODM support: In-house display, TCON/mainboard, and CMS/software from one partner, with worldwide OEM/ODM customization and 100+ country distribution backed by CE, FCC, RoHS, and REACH compliance.
